In its continued commitment to providing the most advanced cancer care to the community, Jefferson Health’s Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center opened a new Medical Oncology Suite at Jefferson Bucks Hospital in Langhorne this year. The facility features 14 state-of-the-art infusion chairs, 12 private bays and one semi-private bay, along with a designated space for clinical appointments.
The suite brings the benefits of a NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center to patients in the Bucks County area. Among these benefits include leading-edge technology, an array of innovative clinical trials, and access to supportive care resources.
“We are providing not only the experts in cancer and associated specialties, but we are also providing extensive supportive services,” said Marcia Brose, MD, PhD, Chief of Cancer Services for Jefferson Bucks and Torresdale Hospitals. “We treat our patients like family. Our navigators help so that patients no longer need to feel overwhelmed when scheduling appointments or tests, our nutritionists provide education and support where needed, our social workers identify barriers to care, while our vans bring patients to their appointments and take them home. We take care of each other as we would one of our own.”
“Our doctors are also well supported by radiologists, radiation oncologists, pharmacists, and partners in the medical subspecialties, such as GI and pulmonary, in order to address the wide-ranging needs of our patients,” said Dr. Brose.
With a team approach to cancer care, medical oncology is part of a growing number of specialty services offered at Jefferson Bucks Hospital, including breast surgery, colorectal surgery, ENT, gastroenterology, gynecology, interventional oncology, neurosurgery, pulmonology and urology.
With the addition of the Medical Oncology Suite at Jefferson Bucks Hospital, patients can now access Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center’s advanced level of care at 11 convenient locations across the Philadelphia and South Jersey regions.
